Livewire
Livewire's communities are free, safe, supportive and fun online communities designed especially for young people with a chronic health condition (including bleeding disorders), disability or a serious illness and their families. It is a cool place to hang out, meet new friends, share experiences, creatively express yourself and enjoy yourself with others who know what it's like.
There are three communities:
Livewire Members – young people with bleeding disorders aged over 10 and under 21 can join others with a chronic health condition or disability or serious illness to
~ Hang out in chat rooms and meet people their own age from all over Australia
~ Create a blog about themselves or stuff they are interested in
~ Check out the latest games
~ Enter competitions and win prizes
~ Keep up with entertainment news, reviews and interviews with all sorts of cool and interesting people
~ Post in forums and have your say!
Livewire Siblings – for young people, aged over 10 and under 21, who have a brother or sister with a bleeding disorder or a chronic health condition, disability or serious illness. At Livewire Siblings you can chat and meet other siblings, create a blog, enter competitions, read stuff created just for you, play games and hear the latest music.
Livewire Parents – For parents and carers of people with bleeding disorders or other chronic health conditions, disabilities or serious illnesses. At Livewire Parents you can connect with other parents and carers, create a journal, post in forums and share advice, and find relevant information and resources.
Chat hosts and moderators trained in adolescent health are online 7 days a week to ensure that Livewire remains a fun and supportive place. Livewire is working with the Australian Federal Police to make certain all members of Livewire remain safe when they are online.
