Bleeding Disorders Awareness Week
TODAY IS THE START OF BLEEDING DISORDERS AWARENESS WEEK.

Bleeding Disorders Awareness Week will run from Sunday 13 October until Saturday 19 October 2019.

This week is an opportunity for individuals and families as well as Haemophilia Foundations and other organisations to take part in a campaign and activities to raise awareness about haemophilia, von Willebrand disease and related inherited bleeding disorders throughout Australia.

RED CAKE DAY

We encourage all of our supporters to participate in Red Cake Day during the week - red cakes can change lives! It’s true.

There are many ways you can get involved.

  • Bake red cakes and sell them at school
  • Organise a Red Cake Day morning tea at your workplace
  • Host a Red Cake day in your local town and have fun activities such as count the lolly jar, colouring in comp and raffles
  • Set up a fundraising page – this way people who cannot attend your event can donate as well. You could also run a virtual Red Cake Day and ask your family and friends for support
  • Host a Red morning tea with all foods (good and bad!) that are read – strawberries, watermelon, red frogs, red cakes, red jelly cups, red macaroon’s, raspberries – to name a few.
  • Ask your guests to wear something red.

Read the special edition Awareness Week newsletter.

Download posters, the colouring in competition and word finds and get your family, friends and colleagues to participate.
