ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been developed by Haemophilia Foundation Australia (HFA), the peak body representing the Australian bleeding disorders community. It aims to provide information about bleeding disorders and HFA activities to the bleeding disorders community and others with an interest in the area.

MEDICAL ADVICE

The information on the HFA website was developed by Haemophilia Foundation Australia for general education and information purposes only and does not replace advice from a treating health professional. HFA does not have medical practitioners on staff and does not make recommendations about particular treatment for specific individuals.

Always see your health care provider for assessment and advice about your individual health before taking action or relying on published information. If you have questions about health information you have seen on this website, discuss it with a qualified health professional, such as those in your Haemophilia Treatment Centre team: a haematologist (specialist doctor), haemophilia nurse, physiotherapist or social worker, psychologist or counsellor.

INFORMATION REVIEW PROCESS

Before being published, health information on this website is reviewed by clinicians with relevant qualifications and expertise, other appropriate experts and consumers who are affected by the health condition being discussed. The reviewers for each health information resource are usually listed with each resource, along with the date it was last reviewed.

ACCURACY AND CURRENCY

Every effort is made to make sure the information on this website is accurate and up-to-date, but HFA cannot guarantee that the information is always accurate, reliable and current, or that it covers all the issues.

We recommend that you check the date last reviewed or the publication date of information and articles on this website as there may have been more developments since the information was published.

Before you act on anything you read on this website, you should always discuss it first with a qualified health professional and get advice that is specific to you and your situation. If you make your own judgement about the information and choose to rely on it without checking with a qualified health professional, it is entirely at your own risk.

Neither HFA nor any other person or organisation who contributed information to this website is responsible in any way for damage that might occur through using this website or the information on it.

ADVERTISING AND FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE POLICY

The HFA website does not host external advertising for the commercial gain of other organisations or individuals, or promote their commercial interests.

If HFA educational resources or web pages have been funded through an education grant from a commercial entity, such as a pharmaceutical company, this is acknowledged in a statement on the resource or web page. Any financial and in kind support received by HFA is based on a mutual understanding that HFA will act independently for the benefit of the bleeding disorders community.
