We know that preparing a parliamentary submission can feel like a daunting process. To help you navigate this, HFA will be hosting interactive workshops in to guide you step-by-step through writing your submission as an individual or part of an organisation.
What will the workshop cover?
- Making a submission: Practical guidance on how to structure your personal story, what key information to include, and how to lodge your submission, as well as how you can contribute to an organisation’s submission, including HFA’s.
- Q&A & support: An opportunity to ask questions about the inquiry process and learn about the support resources available to you.
Workshop Options
You can choose one of the following sessions. Sessions will run for about an hour.
- Option 1: Friday, 23 October 2026 at 12:00 PM AEDT
- Option 2: Monday, 26 October 2026 at 06:30 PM AEDT

If you are unable to attend either date but would still like assistance or resources for preparing a submission, please contact us so we can support you individually.
As always, taking part is entirely voluntary, and HFA is here to support you at every step of the process.
Privacy
We understand that privacy is important to many of our community members. We have taken the following steps to support your privacy as part of this activity:
- We will share the workshop link with you individually, rather than adding you directly to the teams meeting, so other participants will not see your email.
- All participant cameras and microphones will be turned off. All questions will be in the chat and marked as anonymous, rather than your name.
- HFA and Ogilvy Health will know all participants that have registered (name and email) and this will be stored on a secure private folder on HFA SharePoint.
HFA has engaged Ogilvy Health to assist our advocacy efforts. Ogilvy has been working with HFA for over 15 years on many advocacy campaigns. Peta Lange from Ogilvy will be running the workshop.
