The HFA Council and Staff wish you a happy and safe festive season. The HFA office will be closed from noon on Friday 22/12/2023 and reopen on Monday 8/01/2024. The December 2023 National Haemophilia is now available to read on our website. In this issue we share reports from the Conference - new haemophilia therapies, including gene therapy, VWD, women and girls, mild haemophilia, getting older and youth. There are great photos from our community celebrating Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month. We reflect on HIV today for World AIDS Day. And we say goodbye to our Executive Director, Sharon Caris.

World AIDS Day 2023

Today is World AIDS Day. World AIDS Day is marked globally on 1 December to raise awareness about HIV and eliminate stigma and discrimination. In 2023 the national theme for World AIDS Day is Inclusion. Respect. Equity. This year we share messages from our community as they reflect on the theme and how it relates to the Australian bleeding disorders community.

BDAM 2023 Wrap-up

What a huge month we've had! Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month (BDAM) spanned the entirety of October, and saw individuals, families, Haemophilia Foundations and other organisations all helping to raise awareness about haemophilia, von Willebrand disease and hereditary bleeding disorders around Australia.

Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month (BDAM) has arrived! For all of October, individuals, families, Haemophilia Foundations and other organisations will take part in a campaign and activities to raise awareness about haemophilia, von Willebrand disease and related inherited bleeding disorders around Australia. The theme this year is 'Working together', so let's all come together to help raise awareness!
