Thursday, 17 April marked World Haemophilia Day. This year’s theme, ‘Access for all: Women and girls bleed too’ was an opportunity to share information and stories about women and bleeding disorders, highlighting the challenges women face in delayed diagnoses, limited access to treatment, and a lack of understanding about their unique needs.
Thank you so much to all of the community members who participated. It was a great opportunity to come together and raise awareness for haemophilia, VWD and other bleeding disorders.
It was also amazing to see over 100 landmarks across Australia join in by lighting up red and we appreciate the support of the organisations that manage them. This is a massive, joint undertaking by our state and national foundations, and we’re keen to add more volunteers to the ‘light it red’ team.
