World Haemophilia Day 2026 Photos

Thursday, 17 April marked World Haemophilia Day. This year’s theme, ‘Diagnosis: first step to care’ underlined the critical importance of diagnosis. Knowing you have a bleeding disorder and having an accurate diagnosis is essential as a first step in getting the right treatment, care and support.

Thank you so much to all of the community members who participated. It was a great opportunity to come together and raise awareness for haemophilia, VWD and other bleeding disorders.

It was also amazing to see almost 100 landmarks across Australia join in by lighting up red and we appreciate the support of the organisations that manage them. This is a massive, joint undertaking by our state and national foundations, and we’re keen to add more volunteers to the ‘light it red’ team. If this is something you’d like to help us with for 2027, please send us an email (hfaust@haemophilia.org.au).

Check out some of the photos below. We’ll include a full feature covering the day (with a photo gallery) in the next issue of National Haemophilia.
