A fact sheet for people with haemophilia, their families and carers on clotting factor replacement therapy.
It explains what it is, how it works, when and how it is given and the ‘half-life’ of concentrates. It includes the different types: standard half-life (SHL), extended half-life (EHL), ultra-long half-life (UHL). It also covers treatment safety (side-effects, inhibitors and risk of infection) and living well with haemophilia treatment.
