In October 2025, we are once again raising awareness of bleeding disorders in Australia with Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month. This is an opportunity for individuals, families, Haemophilia Foundations, Haemophilia Treatment Centres and other organisations to raise awareness in your local community.
Our theme this year is Teamwork – Pushing the Boundaries, which is in line with our Australian Bleeding Disorders Conference, also taking place in October 2025.
Teamwork – Pushing the Boundaries highlights the power of collaboration in advancing care, treatment, and support for people living with a bleeding disorder. By working together, we can break down barriers, share knowledge, and explore new possibilities for better health outcomes.

Throughout the month we’ll share personal stories, fast facts and bust some myths about bleeding disorders. There will also be activities for kids, including word finds, scavenger hunts and our national colouring-in competition.
The last week of October will be Red Week. During the week organise an activity with your family or friends around something red – wear red to school, bake red cupcakes, red hair day – the ideas are endless!!
Meet up with your local community. Attend state/territory Foundation events, including walks, trivia nights, and more. Reach out to your local Foundation for more details or head to our website closer to the date for a full list of events.
Help raise awareness. Host an event through your workplace, school, or with family and friends. Whether it’s an information session, morning tea, ‘wear red’ day, or red cupcake sale, HFA offers a range of promotional items to help you raise awareness for all bleeding disorders.
