Who's new at HFA

My name is Emiko, and I have joined HFA as the Health Promotion Manager. My role focuses on increasing support and promotion for young people and young families, as well as working on the GETs (Gene and Emerging Therapies) Hub.

I have extensive experience in marketing and business development across a variety of sectors, including health, education and the arts. For the past few years, I have been working in primary care research and education with Monash University’s Department of General Practice, while (slowly!) completing my Master of Public Health at the University of Melbourne.

I previously sat on the working Board of CDH Australia, a charity supporting families who receive a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) diagnosis for their children. This charity is particularly close to my heart, as my son was diagnosed with CDH during pregnancy.

I am so looking forward to working with families, parents, children and young people in my new role with HFA. I hope to learn more about your experiences, hear your stories, and help support you on the journey you are on through health promotion.

Some interesting things about me: I am half Japanese, I lived in London for two years, and I now live in the suburbs with my husband, our two young children and our two rescue kelpies.
