HFA has a new website! You'll find all of the same great content and information, but in brand new packaging. Over the past 12 months we've been working hard with the team at Heartburst to modernise the HFA website. We have great plans for new features to be added in 2024, so please be patient with us while we're in the process of developing them.

The December 2023 National Haemophilia is now available to read on our website. In this issue we share reports from the Conference - new haemophilia therapies, including gene therapy, VWD, women and girls, mild haemophilia, getting older and youth. There are great photos from our community celebrating Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month. We reflect on HIV today for World AIDS Day. And we say goodbye to our Executive Director, Sharon Caris.
After 22 years of service, on the first of November we said farewell to our Executive Director, Sharon Caris. To show how much we appreciate everything she has done for our community, we invite you to write a message to her.
Today is World AIDS Day. World AIDS Day is marked globally on 1 December to raise awareness about HIV and eliminate stigma and discrimination. In 2023 the national theme for World AIDS Day is Inclusion. Respect. Equity. This year we share messages from our community as they reflect on the theme and how it relates to the Australian bleeding disorders community.
What a huge month we've had! Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month (BDAM) spanned the entirety of October, and saw individuals, families, Haemophilia Foundations and other organisations all helping to raise awareness about haemophilia, von Willebrand disease and hereditary bleeding disorders around Australia.
